Life is meant to be celebrated!

Dorothy Hadley Cole

October 9 1917-August 29 2009

The last words my grandma spoke directly to me were "I love you too".. I don't think you can ask for much more than that.. This post about my grandma a few months ago pretty much sums up the way that I feel about little Dorothy...

I am still not sure of what I will do when I can't go to my grandma's and have her ask me if I have a rinse on my hair, or hear her call bullshit when she thinks someone is pulling her leg. We could never have had her funeral in a church cuz you can't tell a "Dorothy" story without some form of swearing! She was feisty and stubborn until the very end but I wouldn't have expected anything less. There are so many lessons that my grandma has taught me through word and action that I will never forget. Grandma Cole accomplished so much in her life that there is nothing to do but celebrate who she is and all that she stood for.

All I can say is that I am grateful to have known her, grateful to have spent her last night on earth with her, grateful to know that she is out of pain and discomfort, and very very grateful to know that families are forever and that I will see my grandma again!!

Some advice from little Dorothy herself:

"Scratch it if it itches even if it's in your britches!"

Oh Jess, I'm sorry that your grandma passed away. I remember you telling several funny stories about her--what a character she was! What a great attitude you have about her passing, Jess. That will carry you through until you meet her again one day ;).

You look great pregnant! When do you find out what you're having??!!
