Things on my mind...

Here's a little peek into my mind this week..

First of all I hope that all of you watched Life on www.dsc.discovery.com on sunday.. Did you like Planet Earth (the animal documentary)?? you will LOVE this!

Next, I can't help but feel sorry for www.people.com/people/sandra_bullock... didn't she just have a heart-melting moment with him at the Emmy's.. what is wrong with men these days?!?

Also, the CRY IT OUT method... who has tried it?? I am super-anti but Jesse thinks it's the only way... any ideas??

with Easter on it's way you know I've got my eyes on some cute dresses... I just can't seem to make up my mind..

which do you like???

#1- would look super cute with some amazing shoes and accesories....
#2- matches a pair of shoes that I already own...Bonus
#3- with a cute sweater?!?
#4- love the print.. but the length- I could make it work!
#5- umm have you heard about http://www.eshakti.com/?? cutest dresses and you can customize them if you want them to be longer or have a different sleeve length etc.. plus the prices are amazing!
#6- I don't have any blue dresses.. I think I "need" this

soooo.. there you have it, my thoughts in a nutshell.. please tell me.. what's on your mind and which dress do you like the most?!?

not sure what's up...but none of the links worked for me, so i can't help ya out with the dress selection.

we let emri cry herself to sleep at 5 weeks....it lasted about 5 min. of course there have been other times that were longer, but i think it is worth it to have a good sleeper!

and seriously....who would cheat on sandra bullock??? what a loser.

Okay, I LOVE all the dresses! Seriously can't decide which is the best!

And on a different note, we let Crew cry it out at 6 months old. HE IS THE BEST SLEEPER NOW!!! It was sad for the first 2 nights, but by night 3 we were basically good to go.

Here is my thoughts on the situation {which I realize every mom is different} but in order for me to be a better mom, I needed a full nights rest and so did my child so I actually felt like I did Crew a favor. Do whatever you think will work best for you and your little family.

We did CIO with Justyce around 7 months old when nothing else worked. I couldn't bear the thought of doing it when she was any younger, it seemed like she didn't have the understanding to absolutely know sleep time is sleep time.

She is 2 now and still whimpers a little at bed time but I think she is just a real stubborn kid!

cry it out method? Yes it works, but your baby is much too young. Neurologically (I can't spell)she won't "get it" right now. Wait a few months. I like the gradual cry it out method. Let her cry it out for 5 minutes and then work your way up to 20 minutes and then one hour...but wait until she is older like 6 months.

We tried a bunch of different methods with Elena. Of course she never got the whole "day time" "night time" scenario, so we're working on that too. I've read the best time to leave them in their cribs is around 2-3 months. I tried it with Elena then but couldn't do it. She didn't like it, and I didn't like it. I've gotten a lot of books suggested to me about sleeping habits and none of them worked. The main point I see with all of them is to make it a habit to have a bedtime routine and stick with it, and put baby to bed so they know its time for bed and its not just a nap. I however tried doing bathtime at night, baby massage, pjs, singing, praying, reading - everynight for a month and she still did not get it and would not go to sleep on her own. Sooo... the only thing we haven't tried thus far is letting her cry herself to sleep, so we're going to try that out for the week and see if that helps. Last night she cried for 75 minutes before falling asleep, but she went to sleep at 10:30 and didn't wake up once until 6 am. (she normally goes to bed at midnight-2 and wakes up 4-5 times after that. She's a terrible sleeper) It's hard on me to listen to her, and it is not on James - so he's the one who goes in and checks on her and I just put my headphones on or do my work or go sleep on the couch and he wakes me up when she's asleep. It really is a heartbreaking thing and I fought it for 9 months, but I'm with whomever it was that said I think you just function so much better when they learn to sleep better. Plus I have a cousin who never taught her son to sleep on his own and he's 4 almost 5 now and still doesn't sleep through the night. I think that's a little extreme too. So, do what works for you. If you want to try out some of the other methods I could send you over some links if you want. I tried them all a few times with Elena but she didnt like them, but Maybe your girl would.
